Helen L. Hegstad

Helen L. Hegstad Of Puyallup, WA died in Auburn, California on Sunday, April 24th, 2011 at the age of 71 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Helen was born in McDonald, PA on August 26, 1939 and was 1 of 5 children to William Mondik and Rosaria Pusateri. At the age of 3 her family moved to New Brighton, PA where she lived till she was 15 and moved to Los Angeles, CA. It was there that she met the love of her life, Marvin Hegstad. Marv and Helen moved to Washington and were married for over 40 years before his passing in 2006. Helen was an exceptional tole painter. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with close friends. Helen is survived by her sisters, Marlene, Patti and JoAnn; her children, Dale, Kim and Janeane; grandchildren, Ruth, C.J. and Maddy; great grandson, Jayden. She was preceded in death by her husband Marv and brother Bill. Helen's wishes were to be placed next to her husband Marv at Fir Lane Memorial Park in Spanaway, WA.
