Being a classmate of Arvins I am sadden by his death. I never really got to know him until some of our classmates went on a cruise to celebrate our 50th class reunion ,and a couple clam digging trips we went on . He was the cook in preparing the clams. I am sadden I never got to know him sooner and do things with him. I will miss him a lot. Joe Kosmalski Class of 59.

I only knew Arvin as Mr. Meyer or Wendy's dad. I have many fond memories of him at the farm and later at their current house. Mr. Meyer will be greatly missed. I will miss his soft spoken voice, his wonderful welcomed smile, and his amazing ways to fix and build things. Heaven is lucky to have him.

Jan and Family, I was very sad to learn of the passing of our special Hilhi classmate Arvin. Arvin was a good friend during our high school years. We played basketball together for several years and he served as Student Body Vice President when I served alongside him as President. He was a great guy, always friendly and helpful in lots of ways. May God grant you strength, peace, and lots of love and support at this time.

Arvin was one of the few people I could call a real friend. He was my friend at work, on a fishing boat or anytime we got together for a chat. He was one of the most talented people I have ever met. I will always miss Arvin. My prayers are with Jan and all of his Family. Bill Nettles

To the family of Arvin "Arv" Jan and kids, Darryl, Joyce and Eldon and families,my deepest sympathy. We his classmates will never forget him, he was part of our youth at Hilhi in HIllsboro, Oregon. He was a good friend, a class leader and could always make everyone laugh even at the worst of times. It hurts my heart to think that he is no longer with us but know that now he has no more suffering. Love, Martha Messer Barker

Dear Jan, Joyce, Eldon and Darrel and families,
Arvin is one of those unforgettable people. Although my brother knew Arvin better than I did I still remember him. The Meyer kids participated in Walther League as did the Neu kids and we all have lots of wonderful memories of our church group experiences. Arvin left a long trail of memories for everyone he touched. Our prayers and sympathy are with all of you. Love, Sam and Marilyn(Neu)Melton

Dear Jan & Family, we're so sorry to hear about Arvin's death. He was truly a great guy, a nicer person I have never known. He has left me with so many great memories. At it was said he could "fix it anything", "cook anything" and "sail anything". Those times sailing with Arvin in the San Juans are some of the best of my life. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
