Clay was a member of the Northwest Pioneer Broadcasters and they have a wonderful remembrance of Clay and his very early years in radio and TV at www.apb.org
If you knew Clay, you will enjoy reading how he got started in radio ownership.

It was a pleasure to meet Clay back around 1968. Had several enjoyable visits and talks about WA state's notable athletes. He did a great job with the Hall of Fame. Respectfully, Mike Grow

Clay was a true professional in everything he did. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Huntington family. He will be missed by all who knew him, worked with him or just called him a friend.

Clay touched so many lives and among them were my husband Ron and myself. I wish Ron was here to express his feelings. The years that Ron played for the Tacoma Giants in 1961,'62, and '63 were among the happiest for us and Clay was a big part of those years.

Of only a very small number of persons, other than one’s spouse or children, can it be said “I would be very sorry not to have known him/her”, or “My life has been substantially enriched by knowing him/her”. But, indeed, this is exactly the way we feel about Clay Huntington, an unforgettably gentle, gracious, generous, and understanding man, an individual who was virtually kindness personified. The many splendid comments already made about Clay in the newspaper and by friends and relatives are truly a well deserved celebration of his exemplary life and represent a magnificent memorial. Sadly, Sharon and I were only with Clay on about eight occasions, the first thankfully on a cruise lasting about 17 days.

Clay touched so many lives and he was such a big part of our lives when Ron played for the Tacoma Giants here in 1961, 62 and 63. I wish that Ron was still here so that he could express his feelings also. Clay will be missed by so many, but remembered with great affection.

Such a shock to hear of the passing of someone who allowed me to gain entry into the world of broadcasting in 1970, and with whom I worked until 1976, at KLAY-FM. His encouragement and faith in my abilities helped launch a management career I still enjoy, and his loss will be keenly felt by all. Thank you, Clay, for all the great years of service, and for believing in the best of all of us.
Heart-felt condolences to family and friends.

I am grateful to have had the honor of making Clay's acquaintance. His graciousness and kindness have allowed me to gain the on-air experience of radio. I am but one of many who have been blessed with the opportunity gained by Clay's generosity. His loss has been, and will continue to be, felt throughout the community. His legacy simply is not equaled.
My heart goes out to the Huntington family. May peace be with you.

Clay gave me my first job out of college in 1978 working at KLAY-FM in Tacoma. He took a chance on me and helped launch my career. For this I will always be grateful. Rest in peace Clay.

To our dear friends, the Francos - we send our love and deepest
sympathy at the loss of one true gentlemen, that we were lucky enough
to have in our hearts for a short 15 years. In that time we enjoyed his
company and the wit and wisdom that was always part of Clay. Not
once did we ever hear a negative comment come from him, as he always found the best in all of us. We salute you Clay, and your family and friends know your life's work was well done.
