Corinne Johnson Obituary

Corinne Dorothy Johnson (Wise) On this day, February 25, 2013, our mother and grandmother Corinne completed her journey to her final home in heaven. She was born to Herbert and Dorothy Krona on September 7, 1917 in Tacoma, WA. While attending Stadium High School she met Russell A Johnson, and they were later married in 1938. She went to Knapp Business College. Her devotion to family started a legacy of love. She thrived as a mother and wife, creating a good home for her family while showcasing her talents in sewing, cooking, and gardening. Also, she loved music, having provided the family with a piano and piano lessons, she taught her family the joy of music. She worked as Deputy Clerk at Ruston Town Hall and after that she was on the Ruston Town Council. She also was a member of PTA at her children's school for many years. She was busy with Ladies Aid, choir, and Sunday School teacher at Ruston Lutheran Church. Again, later on at Redeemer Lutheran Church, she helped with the various church ministries. She also did quite a bit of traveling with her husband after the kids had grown. She was a resident of Ruston for more than 72 years. She leaves behind on this earth her family, which includes three children: son Larry A. Johnson of Des Moines, WA, daughter Linda J. Napier (Robert) of Tacoma, WA, and son Michael A. Johnson (Kathryn) of Tacoma, WA; brother Roger Krona of Tacoma, WA; grandchildren Jay Linder (Lilliya) of Tacoma, WA, Jon Linder of Las Vegas, NV, and Karyn Blair (Joel) of Las Vegas, NV, Darryl Meinz (Maria) of San Antonio, TX, Aaron Meinz of Olympia, WA, and Kristine Napier of Tacoma, WA, Ericka Shamp (Caleb) of Gig Harbor, WA, and Katie Powers (Chris) of Gig Harbor, WA, and Matthew Johnson of Purdy, WA. She also has ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husbands Russell Johnson and Fred Wise, and by daughter Caryl Linder. A graveside service will be held at New Tacoma Cemetery on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 1:30 pm. A memorial gathering for family and friends will follow at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fircrest. Remembrances may be made to the church.
