Francis Hofmann Obituary

FRANCIS M. HOFMANN "MARK" Mark Hofmann, born January 2, 1934, died peacefully at home, Saturday morning, April 30, 2011. He was a proud Air Force veteran with 20 years service to his country. Mark graduated from Clover Park High School in 1952, and joined the Air Force for the beginning of his military career. He entered Pacific Lutheran College in 1956 and the University of Washington in 1957, graduating in 1960. He later became an Air Force Officer, retiring from the service in 1979. Mark and his wife, Marilyn, celebrated 54 years of marriage in 2010. They had four children, Jennifer (1964-1998), Mark (1961-1966), and surviving daughter Julie Knudson (Ken), and son Michael Hofmann (Tassy). Mark and Marilyn also have welcomed as their extended family, Fred Jaramillo and Sheri McCarty. They have seven grandchildren, Kyle and Samantha Knudson, Devin and Tashia Hofmann, Mahalia Jaramillo, and Savana and Omrae McCarty. Also surviving is Mark's sister, Rosana Hefley (Harold) and sister-in-law, Gail Wengerd. Mark was a true sports enthusiast, especially if the team was his beloved Washington Huskies. "Once a Husky, Always a Husky." He loved football and entered the Pigskin Picks every week. In 1995, he had a winning ticket which resulted in a trip to Hawaii. Mark and Marilyn also loved to travel, both on military assignments and later in their motorhome, and on cruises to Alaska. They settled in Puyallup in 2003, to be near their children and grandchildren. No service is planned at this time. The family would like to thank Hospice for extending their help and love during Mark's last days.
