Oh Dad, how I miss you. I miss your guidance, your stories, your laugh. You were absolutely the best dad ever, and I am blessed that you were mine. We shared so much together, and my memories are priceless. You taught me how to ride a bike, how to drive, how to always to whatever I started until it was complete. Thank you for all the love and understanding you gave me. You are always in my heart. PS. I hope you and Mom are living it up!!

Pete was my first employer, together with Jerry Barker and William Boeing Jr., at East Pike Street and Melrose, Vokswagen Washington Inc. My mother purchased a 1953 Vokswagen for me at that time and I found a job with the company, working in the parts department together with Baldor Klein, where Dick Schmidt was the mechanic, who did a lot of the work for Pete. I had the privilege of watching him race many times, in various places. I will always remember Pete. I would love to visit his grave site and pay my last respects. I am forwarding the obituary to a dear friend of mine, race driver, Jerry Grant, whom Pete knew very well, I'm sure. Jerry lives in California.
My deepest sympathy to his two daughters and extended family.
May the eternal God rest his soul in peace.
Sincerely, Juergen Ringmann

I shall fondly remember Pete from the earliest days at Westwood and Kent. Always the gentleman and always fast. I'm so glad we had the chance to reconnect in 2003 ... it was like 50 years had disappeared.
While we didn't know each other well, I admired Pete as a person and as a friend. I know that these past few years were the most difficult laps of all. Rest well old friend, rest well.

Laurie, Jerele, Jana, Chris, Linda, Lisa, & Victoria,
I am so sorry to hear of Pete's passing. I have fond memories of my time being friend's with the Lovely girls (Laurie, Jerele, and Jana). I remember Pete being a nice yet quiet leader of the Lovely family. My deepest sympathies are with you all in your time of grieving.

My condolences to Pete's family and friends. A past Livingston resident sent the news of his passing to a Livingston group who keep track of Park High School graduates. I believe that Pete's father, Gerard "Jiggs" (I hope I've got that right), was a cousin of my granddad Bryan Thomas Lovely. Would enjoy hearing from Pete's family, especially anyone who might be able to fill in the family tree. Again, my sympathy for your loss.

We thought Pete could not possibly be older than his early 60’s.
He always looked like a young man.
He was quiet and polite, but below the surface he was also one very courageous, daring, adventurous globe trotting competitor.
He did not “toot his own horn,” but nevertheless, he did pass many others when he had his hands on the steering wheel.
God’s Speed Pete!

Mr Lovely, I already miss the talks about your life journeys and the cool cars that you had. I think about Mrs Lovely and remember you both often. People come into our lives that make that everlasting impression and that is what the both of you did.You were not old people you both were cool people you new how to dress and act and have fun even though you were in your eighties Mr. Lovely you made it to the finish line with class, dignity, an admiration and I will miss you both.
