HAL AOKI Obituary

Hal Kunani Aoki Hal was born July 23, 1926 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He died in his home on January 25, 2011 after being cared for by Mary, his loving wife of thirty years. He is also survived by three children, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Hal was a twenty-two year veteran of the United States Army and served during WWII and the Korean War. He was also a twenty year retiree of the Clover Park School District. Hal enjoyed his life by creating beautiful gardens, traveling to Hawaii, Boston,EReno, Las Vegas, and the ocean beaches. Most of all, he loved spending time with the family. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, generosity, honesty and how very much he "hated" camping. His sense of humor will be deeply missed. A memorial service will be held for Hal at Fir Lane Funeral Home and Chapel on January 29th at 11:00am. He was a good man! Aloha and Mahalo

My heartfelt condolences to Mary and the rest of the family. Hal was a great guy and so funny. I remember camping one time and he got up early and started banging a spoon against a pan to wake everybody up. I guess I didn't realize he hated camping. He was always very kind to me and he predicted I would have a boy, and I did. He also didn't believe me when I said I was never going to get married. He was right about that too. I didn't see him often but I will miss his presence in our lives.
