I help lead worship at Tacoma Alliance Church, and it was always a pleasure to look out on communion Sundays and see the various couples manning the communion stations around the sanctuary. Helen and Marion were always among them and I will miss looking out and seeing Helen's smiling face waiting, bread in hand, to help the congregation celebrate our Lord's communion.
Helen and Marion also attended a Bible study group my dad lead at our home, and eventually my now husband and I joined in. Helen often had insights into what we were studying or a simple, applicable anecdote to help bring a new light on the topic that perhaps no one else had considered. She was a valuable asset to the group, and a sweet, godly spirit among our church whose absence will be a conspicuous sore spot for some time to come.

Helen was a wonderful lady in Christ. I appreciated it when she would read out loud the prayer requests at church at the beginning of the service on Sunday mornings. Her voice always had such compassion and always full of a loving and caring spirit. Truly the love of Christ was alive and on display in Helen daily. Although she is in the presence of Jesus now, the church and the world are missing her. Helen, I am sure the Lord has a special place in front just for you!
