I was so sad learn about Jack's passing. He was such a nice, jovial man. Sarah and I so enjoyed our time with him and will carry very fond memories.
I loved that he went to the trouble to make fun things happen for everyone. He really was so cheerful and kind.
Take care of each other. I know this is a very hard loss for you, your family and friends. I'm so sorry.

Working with Jack at Weyerhaeuser was such a privilege. He was one of the finest people I ever knew. It was a honor to know him. Love and condolences to his family.

Lorraine and Family,
I was so saddened ot hear Jack has left us. But what I do have are all the memories of him during our work careers in the forest industry for more than 30 years. I'm sorry I lost contact with you both in the last several years. Jack was one of the best property tax experts I was acquainted with. I had the pleasure of knowing him while he was with Crown Zellerbach, James River and lastly working with him at Weyerhaeuser. I loved his humor and his genuine laugh. One of my responsibilities while we worked at Weyerhaeuser occurred during staff meetings. If I began to notice his strained reaction to an unfair event or statement by one of our managers, Jack instructed me to kick him in the shin under the table so he could have time to tone down his comments. He was very concerned about how people were treated and quite often willingly asked for an explanation. I really enjoyed working with him and can't hardly believe he has left us. However, I do have many memories of him that I can easily recall. It will be as if it was just yesterday. My best wishes to you and your family.

Take heart in the fact that your Dad left you with great memories, he helped shape who you are (& that's a good thing!) and you will always be able to honor him throughout your life...a nice legacy!

One of a kind is perhaps the best way for us to describe Jack G. Chapman. In this age of self-absorbed egotists, he was the rare person who always worried about our health, inquired about our grandchildren and even remembered the name of our dog. We'll always happily remember how he love a good laugh, delighted in winning at cards and grinned from ear to ear when hooking a lunker fish. We're eternally grateful for our more than 50 years of close friendship with Jackson and his loving spouse, Loraine.

I met Jack in the early 90's when he assisted us in a lot line adjustment on our cabin on the Columbia river near Clatskanie. Our property bordered the tree farm that James River owned and we discovered after a survey that our house didn't sit on our property! Jack turned what might have been a future disaster into a satisfactory arrangement for both parties. I have never forgotten how polite and professional he was and how much I learned about property lines in that transaction. He was a true gentleman.

Dad, it's been a couple of days now. I still miss you so much it just aches. But, please be comforted knowing we are taking care of Mom. We all love you so much and have enjoyed hearing all of the nice things people have to say about you. Rest in peace, Dad.

We are so saddened to have lost Jack. He walked me down the aisle when I married because my Dad had passed away. He was a caring father and loved Loraine so much. He was an incredibly conscientious employee/worker as a property tax specialist. And...when he laughed you just had to laugh with him. Our sympathies to the immediate family and know we are thinking of you and love you all very much. Nancy & Gary Harrington (Pleasanton

It was a pleasure to know Jack for many years. He set a high standard for professionalism and dedication wherever he was. He wasn't above having some humor along with good work, too. May he catch even bigger fish on the other side! I know his passing will leave a hole in the hearts of his family.
