Jack was a special friend of ours. I went to grade school with him and my husband, Fred and I went to Missoula County High School with him. We also attended many Mariner Games and always enjoyed our visit with him. He will miss our 60th High School Reunion but I imagine he will be with us in spirit.

We used to go into the Tides and close the place down, then jam with Jack until 4 or 5 AM. Good old times, indeed.

You listened to me, Jack, and I appreciated it so much. I just happened to mention a song (a 45 record) I was looking for and, months later, you found it in the trunk of a car and remembered it was the one for which I had been searching. It meant a lot to me. When you sang Ava Maria in church, I will never forget how moved we all were, especially your mom. I could say so much more in tribute but I'll just say "I will miss you, Jack."

I had some great times at The Tides just after I turned 21. You were the best entertainment in town. You will be missed.

I was saddened to read about Jack's death last night, as we stopped on our way to baseball game. Giving him a buck before or after game always made the evening better and stopping to say hello to him as well as listen was a lovely little part of life. My support to his family and appreciation of the good music that he made. Love to you Jack. Carl Tippins- Seattle

Dear Jack, Thankyou for those wonderfully talented and special people you had to leave behind to carry the torch--no better hands exist. The band plays on. Negrychs' All (nee Ceena Smith)

I'm sorry I forgot to sign my name on the message about 3 finger Jack knowing my dad Donny Holland.

3 Finger Jack new my dad Donny Holland. He came to my dads funeral and played afterwards in the Lakewood Elks Lounge. When we were kids he also played for all the little kids down in Grayland,Wa about 1974. He also been out at my Uncle bud's house a few times out on South Hill in Puyallup. My dad and me also ran into him up at the Mariners game playing out side the Stadium. My dad and me were walking back to the baseball game and dad was joking and said there's a retire longshoreman and Jack yelled at my dad hey Donny. He also gave my mom a CD at my dad's funeral 2 1/2 years ago wit his signature on it. He will be missed.

Jack was a highlight of our years in the Pacific NorthWest. We danced to his lively music at the Tides Tavern night after night after night... After Mustang Sally (in heaven) he could play Boney Moronie...keep on playing Jack!

I just saw Jack at Meconi's a little over a month ago. I didn't know him, but he had played music at my great uncles funeral a few years back so I introduced myself and we talked for a quite a while. He told me a few stories about my uncle, recommended a few songs I needed to hear, and even played a few of those songs on the jukebox and sang along. When I finally said goodbye he gave me his CD. He seemed like a great and interesting guy. To his family and friends, I'm very sorry for your loss.
