Joseph Pagkos Obituary

Joseph "Doc" Gregory Pagkos, Ph.D. February 12, 1948 - April 5, 2011 Son of Olga (Bochnewich) and John Pagkos, born and raised in Yonkers, NY. He was a resident of Spanaway, WA. Survived by his beloved wife Debbie Tygart-Pagkos, his brothers Mike and John, his sister Maria, and several neices and nephews. He earned his undergraduate degree from St. Martin's College in Olympia, his master's degree from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, and his doctorate from the Ohio State University in Columbus. He was a consultant, mental health therapist, school psychologist, and Special Education Director. He loved teaching and learning, enjoyed the outdoors - especially hiking and SCUBA diving -and loved working with disabled children. He received the generous gift of life through the donation of a heart. His family is grateful for the extra years of life he enjoyed as a result of this wonderful gift. Donations in his honor can be made to Donate Life Northwest, or to the American Diabetes Association. Please sign up to be an organ donor.
