Born in Seattle, Kaz graduated from the UW and served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a member of the 442nd Regiment. Later he went on to work on aircraft carriers as Chief Engineer at The Bremerton Naval shipyard. Kaz was very involved with Gig Harbor and Shore Acres various city planning and was always on hand to assist the Gig Harbor Fire Department as well as all of his friends and neighbors as he stocked each and every tool and piece of machinery in his workshop and had the unique ability to fix and create whatever was needed. A master woodworker he enjoyed designing and building anything from home additions, to custom hard wood furniture to his brother's house and the local Ace Hardware which he enjoyed working on with pal Al Spadoni, he and Al also proudly volunteered at FISH for many years. Well known in the community his smile and generosity will be missed, locals will remember him in his signature bermudas which he sported around town through all seasons. Kaz patie ntly taught his family many great skills and lessons but above all with no expectations he always told us to do whatever makes us happy. We will honor his instructions and celebrate his life and devotion to each of us everyday.
