Kenneth Bullard Obituary

Kenneth H. Bullard Age 84, of DuPont, WA, died April 13, 2011 at St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Ken was born February 16, 1927 in Tacoma, WA. The son of the late Rene Bernadette Poisson and Robert Freeman Bullard, Ken was the youngest of 3 sisters and one brother. In 1945 Ken enlisted in the US Army and served with the 52nd FA BN during WWII in the Pacific Theater. Ken married his wife Grace Carrie on Sep. 28th, 1945 before being deployed, and upon his return remained at her side for the next 65 years. Ken retired from the Postal Service after 30+ years and moved to Hawaii in 1982 with Grace, his "Island Princess". The couple moved home to Washington in 2006 to be closer to their daughter, 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Ken was preceded by his parents Rene and Robert, brother John, sisters Lucille, Roberta and Barbara, and his son Kenny. Ken is survived by his wife Grace, daughter Leslie, grandchildren Tobi and husband Mike Ness, Tara Mikelson, and Jason Mikelson, and 6 great-grandchildren, Kenneth, Victoria, CJ, Cameron, Aiden and Conner. Ken will be remembered as a compassionate friend, a loving husband, a proud father and grandfather, and the Rock to a very thankful family. A service will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, April 17th, 2011 at the New Hope Community Church in Lakewood, WA. Donations can be made to the Heart & Vascular Center at St. Joseph's Medical Center and New Hope Community Church.

Dear Grace and family, We are so very sorry for the loss of Ken.
We were on a trip when he passed and so just received the sad news.
We will always remember Ken and his kind and generous spirit and the fun we had in Hawaii at Island Sands. Please know that we believe we will see him again one day. With much love, Bob and Geri Hager
