MILES FUSON Obituary

Miles D. Fuson Miles D. Fuson, February 13, 1919 to February 22, 2011. Born and raised in Spokane, WA to Elver and Francis Fuson, Miles started work with Nalley's Fine Foods at age 18 in Spokane. Miles married Betty Peirson on February 3, 1945 and raised four sons, Donald (pre-deceased), Stephen, Douglas, and Richard. Miles and Betty had just celebrated 66 years of marriage. Miles flew as a radioman in a PBY off the carrier USS Belleauwood. After his service in the Navy he returned to work at Nalley's, eventually arriving in Tacoma in 1957. After 55 years with Nalley's Inc., he retired as sales supervisor. After retirement, Miles and Betty traveled as snowbirds, eventually ending up in Florida working for Disney World. After suffering a stroke and unable to work and golf, they returned to Tacoma to be near family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Miles at 92 years young was quick to encourage all to live life to the fullest. He loved his family deeply and enjoyed every moment with his friends. As per Miles' wishes, there will be no services.

Dear Betty, Steve, Doug, and Rick,
I am so sorry about the passing of your husband/father. I have fond memories of being your next door neighbor. The Nalley's backyard parties were always fun and yummy. We really had a fun neighborhood. My dad always got a kick out of hearing Miles working on his car with one of the boys helping. Especially when they brought him the wrong tool that he had requested. Miles was a wonderful man and my parents thought highly of him also. You are going to miss him alot, but keep your wonderful memories of Miles in your heart so that he is forever with you, and I am sure that you have many of those. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time in your lives.

I am the oldest daughter of Cliff/Georgia Dann. My family thought alot of Miles as my father and he worked together for Nalleys when we were growing up. Both my parents are deceased but I know they would want me to acknowledge your fathers passing for them. I remember the Fuson family coming to our home in Gig Harbor and my parents always talked about what a nice family Miles has. Our condolences. Dona Dann Thompson/Phx, Az
