Odessa Godak Obituary

Odessa Fae Smith Godak Dessa Godak, 78, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2011 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. Dessa was born on July 10, 1932 in Walla Walla and graduated from Fruitland High in Idaho before she joined the Air Force in 1952. There she met the love of her life, Ed Godak. Dessa was active for many years in Toastmasters and Beta Sigma Phi International and proudly served as the Patient Representative at Madigan Army Hospital from 1984-1994. Dessa was energetic, smart, creative, and had an amazing sense of humor, always bringing laughter to whomever she met. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Jan and Donn Smallwood, and her brothers Leslie and James Smith. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Garden Courte Memory Care Facility, where Dessa spent her last 18 months. A graveside service at Tahoma National Cemetery will be held Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 12:30 pm. A reception will follow. Please sign the online guest book at www.dryermortuary.com
