Roger Wayne Helt

Roger Wayne Helt, 71, of Seymour died at 7:20 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2011, at his residence with his family by his side.
Roger was the owner of Helt Enterprises and was previously employed at Cosco and Cummins Inc. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Roger enjoyed sight-seeing, traveling and loved spending time with family and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street in Columbus with Pastor Chet Martin officiating.
Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from noon until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.

Roger was born March 9, 1940, in Vallonia to the late John Floyd and Helen Bowling Helt. He married Charlotte W. King on Sept. 17, 1961.
Survivors include his wife; son, Daniel (Connie) Helt of Seymour; daughter, Debra (Duane) Helt of Seymour; grandson, Shawn (Jennette) Helt, Crothersville; granddaughter, Madison Helt of Seymour; grandsons, Nathan, Adam and Jacob Rucker; sisters, Donna Morgan, Dorothy Campbell, Marsha Floyd and Janet Floyd; brothers, James and Ray Floyd; great-grandchildren, Makayla and Zachary Helt; brothers-in-law, Raymond (Betty) King of Columbus, Dale (Sue) King of Columbus and several nieces and nephews.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Charles King; and niece, Lee Ann King.
