Edith H. Goble Simpson

Edith H. Goble Simpson, age 89, of Jackson, and a former resident of Wellston, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012, at the Memorial Hospital in Fremont, Ohio. She was born May 26, 1922 in Sciotoville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Tracy and Nora Waugh Post. Edith was a 1940 graduate of Wellston High School, and was a former seamstress at the Pants Factory in Wellston, where she was employed for 44 years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Hamden. Edith is survived by her sister, Betty Faulkner of Fremont, Ohio; step-children, David Simpson, Debbie Livesay and Terry Hanning, all of Jackson; close and dear friends, Dowlene Border Morgan, Delores Wyatt and Dorothy Dalton, all of Wellston and Arlene Gillum of Jackson, as well as several nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her first husband, Gene Goble; her second husband, Joseph Simpson; brother, Gordon Post, and sisters, Juanita Post and Eva Downard. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 A.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Ervin officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
