Mary Kathryn (Behrns) Idzi, 53, of Naples, FL, formerly of Fort Wayne, Indiana, died peacefully on Sunday at 8:15 pm after a courageous six-year battle with breast cancer. Born June 11, 1959, Mary was the youngest of six children of Frederick W. and Patricia L. Behrns, Fort Wayne. Mary was a graduate of North Side High School in 1977 and Indiana University in 1984. Over the next 30 years, her business career in employee benefits insurance took her to Indianapolis and the Sarasota/Fort Myers/Naples, Florida area. Mary wed Greg Idzi on August 15, 1997 in Naples. Missing her deeply are her daughter, Gloria Patricia, 12, and step-daughter Kristina, 23. She is survived by her husband and daughters, parents, Fred and Pat Behrns of Fort Wayne, her siblings: Kathy (Dave) Hilliker of Peoria, AZ, Karen (John) Hutmacher, Tom (Jenny) Behrns, Linda (Earl) Irwin, and Susan Sherman, all of Fort Wayne. She also enjoyed her nieces and nephews: Allison Hilliker, Michael Behrns, Kari (Dan) Coffey, Kellianne (Ben) Keim, Elizabeth Sherman, and Andrew Sherman, and Great Grand-niece, Delilah Keim. Mary enjoyed four years of high school cheerleading, playing cards, the piano and tennis, watching Florida sunsets, and eating Zesto's Ice Cream. "Mary's most perfect accomplishment in life was being the mother to Gloria and Kristina. She loved them with her whole being." Mass of Christian Burial is 11:00 am, Monday, September 17, 2012 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 1500 West State Blvd., Fort Wayne with calling 1 hour prior with Fr. Christopher Smith officiating. Calling at - D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue Sunday, September 16, 2012 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm with a Vigil Service at 7:30 pm.
