Edgar Kiser CHESTERFIELD, Va. Edgar Kiser, 88, formerly of Lebanon, Va., went to be with the Lord, Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010. Born June 28, 1922, in Russell County, a son of the late Gaines Kiser and the late Myrtle Hubbard Kiser. He was the husband of the late Mamie Hubbard Kiser. Edgar proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and was the recipient of a Purple Heart. He was retired from the Virginia Department of Corrections with many years of service. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Fred and Clifford Kiser; and his sister, Dora Vaught. Survivors include his stepson, Dallas Wayne Hubble and wife Faye; granddaughters, Kimberly Hubble and Krista Alston and her husband Chris; great-grandchildren, Charlie and Jack Alston; his sister, Angie Kelly and husband J.T.; brother, Robert Kiser and wife Jane; and a host of special nephews, nieces and friends. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010, in the Combs Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Roger Hearl officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Memorial Cemetery. Family members will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010, at the funeral home. Combs Funeral Service, 291 Fincastle Road, Lebanon, VA 24266, (276) 889-4444, is serving the family of Edgar Kiser.
