Aaron Harkleroad Obituary

Aaron Rutledge "Rut" Harkleroad BLUFF CITY, Tenn. Aaron Rutledge "Rut" Harkleroad, age 77,passed away on Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at the Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born in Bristol Virginia, and was a son of the late Jessee James Harkleroad and Mary Alice Rutledge Harkleroad. He had lived in California for 30 years where he was a retired firefighter with the Kern County Fire Department with 23 years of service. He then moved in 1980 to Bluff City where he presently resided. He served as a U.S. Marine veteran during the Korean War and was of the Baptist faith. Beside his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, E.L. "Louis" Harkleroad and C.F. "Clarence" Harkleroad. Survivors include: two sons, John Allen Harkleroad and Richard Aaron Harkleroad and wife Becky; sister, Louise Shipley; brother, Warren Brady "W. B." Harkleroad; special cousin like a brother, Rodney Harkleroad; sister-in-law, Linda K. Harkleroad; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
