Anne Hopkins Sammons BRISTOL, Tenn. Anne Hopkins Sammons passed away Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Earl and Lora Greene Hopkins. She was a graduate of Logan High School in Logan, W.Va., and attended Concord University in Athens, W.Va. Anne was the owner of Economy Beauty Supply, Bristol Tennessee. She was a former member of the Blue Stocking Club, Blue Ridge Garden Club, The Bristol Country Club and past president of the Bristol Heart Association. She was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace "Bud" Sammons on October 29, 2010. Survivors include two sons, Alan C. Sammons and wife, Lori of Bristol Tennessee and Eric L. Sammons and wife, Debbie of Bluff City, Tenn.; sister, Gayle Mallin of Bristol Tennessee; four grandchildren, Rachel Sammons, Elizabeth Sammons Pope, Aaron Sammons and Logan Canter; two great-grandchildren, Julianna Pope and Maddox Rasnake; several nieces and nephews including nephew, Chris Mallin and great-nephew, C.J. Mallin. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, in Glenwood Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with Dr. Mark Frazier and Pastor Harold Taylor officiating. Entombment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery Mausoleum. Honorary pallbearers will be Ann Martin, Ursula Bledsoe, Dottie Coker, Marilyn Hazenfield, Lois Bishop, Mona Glover, Helen Brown, Ann Fleming, Carolyn Harr, Dot Arnold, Ruth Stover, Carolyn and Bob Slagle, Bonnie and Pete Pino, Peggy and King Rogers, Joyce and Robert Rodgers, Peggy and George King, Shirley and Paul King, Sugar and Bill Green, Anna Lee and Grady Hensley, Mary and Jay Malone, Teresa and Gerry Hardin, Jan and Myers Massengill, Pat and Oscar Edwards and the employees of Economy Beauty Supply. The family will receive friends from 1 2 p.m., prior to the service in the Mausoleum Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 700 Cumberland St., Bristol, VA 24201. Dear Eric, Alan, Gayle & Chris,

I don't have the right words, but you are all in my thoughts, prayers and heart. I can't begin to imagine your heartache today.

I loved Anne and Bud, and I don't remember life before knowing them and all of you. You'e all family to the Glovers even if it's not by blood.

I hope all the love and wonderful memories of your parents and knowing they are together will give you some peace and comfort. And I hope you feel surrounded today by the love of family and friends.
