Bertha Larimer

Bertha Rupard Larimer CHILHOWIE, Va. Bertha Rupard Larimer, age 92, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, in the Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, Va. She was born in Laurel Bloomery, Tenn., to the late General Lee Rupard and Julia Thompson Rupard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Jackson Larimer; a brother, Walter Rupard; and two sisters, Esta Hayes and Gladys Booth. She had been a member of the Konnarock Seventh-day Adventist Church since 1926. She was a devoted wife, mother and church member. She is survived by: two sons, Charles Jackson Larimer and wife Martha, Earl, N.C., Edward Lee Larimer, Chilhowie, Va.; one brother, Eugene Rupard, Fredericksburg, Va.; two grandchildren, Derek Lee Larimer, Chilhowie and fianc‚e Sara Ayyash, Richmond, Va., Thomas Murray Larimer, Chilhowie; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010, at the Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon, Va., with Pastor David Tripp officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Konnarock Seventh-day Adventist Church, 590 Konnarock Road, Damascus, VA 24236, in memory of Mrs. Bertha Larimer.
