Betty June Statzer Richard ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. Betty June Statzer Richard, 80, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at her residence. A native of St. Paul, Va., she was a daughter of the late Marvin A. and Melissa Kate Jessee Statzer. She had lived in Elizabethton since 1965. Prior to that she had been a resident of Bristol. Mrs. Richard was a Christian. Survivors include her husband: Aulon M. Richard; a daughter and son-in-law, Mitzi and Alan Render, Belleville, Ill.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Geri Richard, Elizabethton and Russ & Janet Richard, Knoxville; six grandchildren, Mike Richard and wife Pam, Seba Arnett and husband Don, Kate and Erik Render, Chris and Kelly Richard; two great-grandchildren, Haley Richard and Dessa Arnett. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the Glennwood Cemetery, Bristol, with the Rev. Tim Tapp officiating. Friends may call at the residence. The family would like to give special "thanks" to Frank Quintero, Ken and Lennice Potter and Carol, Connie Brown Christian and Aaron Baird, the wonderful staff of Burgie Drug Store, and Amedisys Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to Amedisys Hospice Christian Foundation, 684 Highway 91, Elizabethton, TN 37643. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. Friday. Condolences may be e-mailed to [email protected]. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge.

Family of Betty Richard - Aulon, Mitzi, Russ and Rick I was sad to read of the loss of your loved one. I know that she was a wonderful mom and wife. I will always remember her for being so kind and thoughtful to everyone.
