Beverly Carol Shipley Lahr CHARLOTTE, N.C. Mrs. Lahr, 71, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2010, at Charlotte Health Care Center in Charlotte. Her family will receive friends on Monday, June 14, 2010, from 12 until 2 p.m., with services in celebration of her life beginning at 2 p.m. all at Heritage Funeral Home, 3700 Forest Lawn Drive, Matthews, NC 28104. Interment will follow the service at Forest Lawn East Cemetery. Born Jan. 6, 1939, in Bristol Virginia, Carol was the oldest daughter of Dana and Garland Shipley. She was a member of the Hornets Nest Region Antique Automobile Club of America and was an avid Carolina Panthers Fan. The most important role she played was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her beloved husband and best friend, David; son, Robert; grandchildren, Nicole and Andrew; sister, Lin Snipes of Piney Flats, Tenn.; and numerous nieces. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to the Art Gannon Scholarship Fund, c/o Hornets Nest Region AACA, 9307 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28270. `Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Funeral Home, Weddington Chapel. David and family: So sorry to read about your wife's passing. I pray the many memories you have will will bring you comfort during this difficult time. I lost my Mother last July and it has been very difficult for me, but with God's help, I have survived.
I use to live across the street from Mrs. Lahr..at the condos....this is Pat..I still think about your Mother often and the many things she taught me...she was a wonderful woman. She and I shared some great times.
I will remember you in my prayers.
