Billy Banner Robinette RICHLANDS, Va. Billy Banner Robinette, age 77, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, in a Salem, Va. hospital. He was born in Coeburn, Va., and was the son of the late Isaac Edward and Mary Marie Tompkins Robinette. He had made his home in the Richlands area for the past 25 years and was retired from the U.S. Army. He served during the Korean War and was a life member of the Casey-Shortt VFW Post No. 9640 of Richlands. Survivors are: two daughters, Billie Neese of Santa Fe, N.M., Paula Alderman of Ft. Meyers, Fla.; special friend and companion, Loraine Johnson of Richlands; three grandchildren, Sheena Neese, Eddie Neese, and Cpt. Adam Keene, USAF. Memorial services for Bill Robinette will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, at 3 p.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, with the Rev. Stafford Compton and Rev. Jim Denton officiating. Members of the Casey-Shortt VFW Post No. 9640 will conduct military rites and will serve as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Casey-Shortt VFW Post No. 9640, P.O. Box 416, Cedar Bluff, VA 24609. Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands is in charge of arrangements and those wishing to express sympathy online may do so at www.hurstscottfuneralhomes.com
