Billy Bolinskey Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 30, 2010.
Billy Bolinskey MECHANICSVILLE, Va. Billy Bolinskey, 73, died peacefully in his sleep Aug. 28, 2010. He is survived by his sisters, Paulette Roccograndi (Anthony) and Rosemary Brooke (Larry); a brother, Patrick Bolinskey (Linda); nieces, Jacqueline Lund, Christy Bolinskey, Dr. Desiree Brooke and Kim Bolinskey; nephews, John Roccograndi, Kevin and Sean Bolinskey; a great-niece, Nicole Roccograndi; and a great-nephew, Mason Roccograndi. Billy was born April 20, 1937, in the mountains of southwest Virginia. He was the oldest of seven and graduated third in his high school class, which he always said wasn't too hard considering that there were only 10 people in his class. That was always one of his favorite jokes to tell. He went on to graduate with a degree in chemistry from Virginia Tech. Billy had an amazing love of baseball, and it was nothing unusual to find him any summer day reading and watching numerous games at one time. He will always be remembered for his infectious laugh. The family will receive friends Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Parkway, Mechanicsville, where a celebration of Billy's life will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday.

I will always remember Bill as one of the funniest people in our class of 1956. We always e-mailed each other nothing about politics or religion. He was very strong in his belief. I just talked to him a week ago and he wanted us to call each other once a week. We always discussed ball games, the last time he was in East Stone he gave me a surprise visit, I had not seen him since 1956. Evelyn
