Bonnie Carol Robinson RICHLANDS, Va. Bonnie Carol Robinson, age 61, passed away after a vigilant battle with cancer on Thursday Dec. 2, 2010, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Richlands, and was the daughter of the Rev. Carl W. Robinson of Richlands, and the late Dorothy Brown Robinson. She was a former employee for Experience Works of Richlands. She was a member of the Swords Creek Block Church and was a lifetime resident of the Richlands area. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Ron Vandyke. Those who remain to carry on her spirit are her daughter, Vanessa Vandyke Barker and husband, Wade, of Franklin, Tenn.; son, Jackie Vandyke and wife, Sky Ann, of Lebanon, Va.; stepson, Brandon Mullins and wife, Miranda, of Washington, Pa.; foster sister, Pauline Keen Reedy and husband, James, of Richlands; sisters, Mary Robinson Vandyke of Richlands, Nancy Robinson Campbell and husband, Lynn, of Richlands, Carlene Robinson Altizer and husband, the Rev. Mike Altizer, of Richlands; special friends and caregivers, Tammy Stevens, Elisha Fuller and a host of loving volunteers; granddaughter, Ally Ashman; four step-granddaughters and one step grandson also survive her, along with a host of friends and family. Funeral services for Bonnie Carol Robinson will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands with the Rev. Mike Altizer, the Rev. Jim Richardson and the Rev. Dwight Miller officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Va. Pallbearers will be Stephen Altizer, Thad Harris, John Dye, Steve Bunker, Buddy May, and Doug Conner. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. on Friday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands.
