Carolyn Diana Susie Hayes AURORA, Ill. Carolyn Diana Susie Hayes, age 56, at peace Dec. 1, 2010. Born Aug. 24, 1954. Loving wife of 28 years and best friend of Kevin R. Hayes. Beloved mother of Julie (Jessie) Simmons and Kevin Ryan. Loving daughter of Cecil R. Cole and Polly. Dear sister of Ronald C. Cole and Pamela (Jeff) Blevins. Preceded in death by her mother, Wattie Gay (Childress) Edgins; Julie Kalber; and Granny. Special aunt to many nieces and nephews and loving niece to many aunts and uncles. Loving cousin to many, friend to all, and "Mama Hayes" to a few. Carolyn had a special place in her heart for all seniors and expressed her love to all those who walked through the doors of Tabor Hills and Spring Meadows communities in Naperville. For those who prefer, memorials to Seasons Hospice, 606 Potter Road, Des Plaines, IL 60016. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff, Va., with Rev. Steve Perkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Cemetery at Claypool Hill, Va. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends at the Singleton Funeral Service at Cedar Bluff, from 6-9 p.m. Monday. Carolyn and I were friends for many years and shared many laughs and tears. I was honored to be included as a bridesmad in her wedding to Kevin and we also shared the excitement of having children (first born) at the same time. I recall the tears when she lost her mother and younger sister as well. With our everyday lives being what they are, we did not speak regularly and given that I moved out of state, I had not spoken with her for a while. I was so excited to receive an email from Carolyn this summer and then we became Facebook friends soon after. As quickly as we reconnected, we are now separated again. In my heart, I know she is again with those she loved so dearly and is no longer suffering. God Bless and Godspeed to you my friend. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time.
