Chiquita Louise English Owens

Chiquita Louise English Owens Mrs. Chiquita Louise English Owens was born June 6, 1932 in Bristol Tennessee to Mrs. Edna D. and Carl English. She departed this life after a brief illness on Dec. 23, 2010, at Bristol Wellmont Regional Medical Center. She wea employed at University Hospital of Cleveland, and retired from Hough Norwood Clinic of Cleveland, Ohio. She was currently employed part -time by Sunhouse of Bristol Virginia. Mrs. Owens received Christ at an early age at Lee Street Baptist Church. She participated in Sunday school and B.T.U. She was a graduate of Douglass High School of Bristol Virginia and a certified phlebotomist under the National Phlebotomy Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Harvey Owens; and father, Mr. Carl English. She leaves to cherish her memories: Mother, Mrs. Edna English of Bristol Virginia; one favorite brother, Mr. Carlton (Eva Mae) English of Ft. Washington, Md.; seven sisters, Ms. Brenda English of Petersburg, Va., Ms. Piccola English of Hillsville, Va., Mrs. Clara Dulaney, Mrs. Vivian (Douglass) Releford of Kingsport, Tenn., Mrs. Theresa (Emanuel) Courtland of Strongsville, Ohio, Mrs. Billie D. Anderson of Bristol Tennessee, and Ms. Gloria English of Bristol Virginia; one aunt, Mrs. Lydia Goodbread of Anniston, Ala.; three nieces, Angela and Debra English of Washington, D.C. and Carla Releford of Knoxville, Tenn.; two nephews, Michael Dulaney, Kingsport, and Carlton Releford of Knoxville; Skeet is also survived by and a host of cousins, great-nieces and nephews, and friends including James Henry of Kingsport, Mary Ann Wright and Marian Price. Funeral service for Mrs. Owens will be conducted at 12 noon on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at Lee Street Baptist Church with Dr. W.A. Johnson officiating. The interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery.
