Dale Herbert Poston CASTLEWOOD, Va. Dale Herbert Poston, 48, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at his home in the Dickensonville community. He was born in St. Paul, Va., son of the late Paul and Lottie Jo Robinson Slemp Poston. He was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Slemp; twins, Ruth and Luther Slemp; maternal grandparents, B.F. "Curly" and Sophia Robinson; and paternal grandparents, Harvey and Sallie Poston. He worked as a brick mason. He was avid hunter and outdoorsman. He is survived by one daughter, Kayla Marie Poston of Castlewood; five sisters, Cathy Poston Booker and husband Joe of Dante, Va., Rita Slemp Mullins of Castlewood, Delores Slemp Carroll and husband Larry of St. Paul, Va., Linda Slemp Harvey and husband Joe of Castlewood and Margaret Slemp Yeary and husband Dennis of Castlewood; three brothers, Arthur Slemp of Castlewood, Robert Slemp of Dante and Roy Slemp and wife Judy of St. Paul; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Dale Herbert Poston will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, with Rev. Curtis Dalton and Rev. Ted Phillips officiating. Committal services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Pallbearers will be nephews and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, in Castlewood Funeral Home. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Sue Prill and Dr. Tisdale, and all the staff of Cancer Outreach Center in Abingdon, Wellmont Hospice, and Patsy, Freda, Ashley, and Susie.
