Delmar Ray Bowman Jr. CHILHOWIE, Va. Delmar Ray Bowman Jr. age 63, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at his home. Mr. Bowman was born in Marion to the late Delmar Ray Bowman Sr. and Margaret Jacqueline Hopkins Bowman, and was preceded in death by his first wifem, Anita Louise "Edie" Bowman; a niece, Christy Bowman; and a nephew, Benjamin Wagoner. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He had been employed at the Appalachian Detention Center in Honaker for 35 years as a welding instructor. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors Include: his wife, Becky S. Bowman; three children, April Buchanan and Special companion, Hunter Testerman, Marion, Va., Roger Lee Bowman and wife Jennifer, Chilhowie, Tineke Miranda Snead of the home; his brothers; and asister, Eva Wagner and husband Letcher, Marion; David Bowman and wife Patty, Marion, Michael Bowman and wife Peggy, Stuart, Va.; one grandson, Coty Bowman; several nieces and nephews; a special pet, Guinevere. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, from the Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Sage officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Full military honors will be rendered by the Francis Marion VFW Post 4667 and the Appalachian Detention Center Color Guard will render honors and serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
