Douglas "Doug" Regon CEDAR BLUFF, Va. Douglas "Doug" Regon, age 79, passed away Dec. 31, 2010. He was a beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a proud member of the Richlands High School Class of 1950. He enjoyed his class reunions very much. He was a proud member of the UMWA. He enjoyed astrology, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with his family. He was the son of the late Nick Regon and Madie Russ Regon. He was preceded in death by infant son, William Douglas Regon; brother-in-law, David Compton; and beloved grandson, Brandon Regon. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Gloria Regon; son, David Keith Regon of Richlands, Va.; grandson, Nick Regon and wife Christy of Cedar Bluff; sisters, Deloris Altizer and husband S.G. of Jewell Ridge, Va., Alice Regon of Greenville, S.C., and Mary R. Compton of Greenville; brothers, Nick Regon and wife Estelle of Dayton, Ohio, and Bobby Jo Regon and wife Dottie of Easley, S.C.; special friends, Jack and Trish Hill, Art Cordle and family, Branson and Barbara Whited, Geneva Joyce and Brian and Angie Patton. His wish was to be cremated. A memorial service will be held Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, with special friend, Adam Cordle, conducting the service.
