Edith Wilson Houston LEBANON, Va. Edith Wilson Houston, age 64, went to be with the Lord on Saturday at her home after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. She was the daughter of Lucille Martin and the late Clarence Martin. She was a member of the Chestnut Grove Methodist Church and had worked previously as a hair stylist. She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Mossholder and husband Brent, and Donna Nunley and husband Dwight; one son, Eddie Wilson; the father of her children, Edwin Wilson; her loving grandchildren, Ben Mossholder, Nathan Mossholder, Keri Burke, Adam Burke, Sydney Nunley, and Shawn Nunley; two great-grandsons, Zachary Burke and Abel Pruitt (born April 17, 2010); her former husband, Chuck Houston; her mother, Lucille Martin; her sisters, Mae Gray and husband Don, and Joyce Brown and husband Steve; her brothers, Bill Martin and wife Sherry, Jake Martin and wife Leona, and Billy Galliher and wife Tammy; and several special nieces and nephews. Edith is also survived by special friends, Connie Harless, who painted her nails until the day she died, and Diana McDaniels with whom she shared many memories. Funeral services for Edith W. Houston will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, April 19, 2010, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Olan Castle and the Rev. Bill Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens, Abingdon, Virginia. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the Frost Funeral Home on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Active pallbearers will be Guy Kegley, Junior Gilbert, Floyd Fields, Joey Gilbert, John Street and J. T. Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Pruitt, Robbie Dale, Derek Sweet and Eddie Winkler. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Attn: Donor Services, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, Texas 75265-0309. The family would like to express special thanks to the Russell County Home Health Care and the Hospice nurses and staff.
