Elmer Testerman Obituary

Elmer Lee Testerman Sr. CHILHOWIE, Va. Elmer Lee Testerman Sr., age 77, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, at the Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, Va. He was born in Smyth County to the late Randolph and Winnie Pennington Testerman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death one daughter, Judy Hash; and his siblings, Roy Testerman, Bob Testerman and Betty Testerman. He enjoyed car racing, his dogs and was the best at fixing lawn mowers. He is survived by his sons, Jerry Lee Testerman, Chilhowie, Billy Joe Testerman and wife Cindy, Chilhowie, and Elmer Lee Testerman Jr., Chilhowie; his daughters, Reatha Ann Jackson and husband David, Chilhowie, and Rebecca Hankla and friend Dennis, Chilhowie; one brother, Martin Testerman and wife Ivory, Chilhowie; three sisters, Mary Waskey and husband Robert, Marion, Beulah Goldsboro, Laurel, Md., and Carol Testerman, Laurel; his grandchildren, Heather Branscome, W.C. Dolinger, Billy Wayne Testerman, Alisha Testerman, Orion Testerman, Tiffany Jackson, David Jackson, Kelly Jackson, Jordan Blevins, Shane Testerman, Jared Hankla, Lacie Testerman, and Sarah Testerman; one great-grandchild, Natalie Testerman; special friend, Jack Owens; and mother of his children, Betty Jo Testerman. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, from the Bradley's Funeral Chapel in Chilhowie. Interment will follow in the Grosses Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com. Bradley's Funeral Chapel of Chilhowie is serving the family.
