Elocia Ratliff Obituary

Elocia Powers Ratliff BRISTOL, Va. Elocia Powers Ratliff, age 85, and a longtime resident of Grundy, Va., went to be with the Lord Jan. 12, 2010, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was born April 1, 1924, in Pike County, Ky., a daughter of the late Ira and TheoDosia Potter Powers. She was a member of the Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Ratliff; sister, Loma Powersl; and brother, Wert Powers. Survivors include: daughters, Patricia Viers, Loretta Dotson, Reeva Richardson and husband Tim; son, Daniel Ratliff and wife Patsy; sister, Florene Ferrell; seven grandchildren, Mechele Tucker, Brandon Ratliff, Brittany Ratliff, Brady Ratliff, Chad Viers, Shane Viers and Greg Richardson; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at 1 p.m. in Mt. Valley Memorial Park Cemetery in Grundy. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at Weaver Funeral Home.
