Emmett Lloyd ABINGDON, Va. Emmett Lloyd, 81, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 24, 2010, at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Sullivan County, Tenn., and was a son of the late Taylor and Eliza Mullins Lloyd. He was a member of Greenwood Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Leborn, Elbert, Mac, Elihu and Paul; sisters, Eva, Pansy, Mae and Pearl; and a grandson, Zachary Taylor Pickels. Surviving are his wife of almost 50 years, June Lloyd; son, Nathaniel Lloyd and wife, Deidre of Miami, Fla.; daughters, Brenda Boone and husband, Bobby of Abingdon and Gail Otey and husband, Lee of Bristol Virginia; grandchildren, Josh Boone and wife, Crystal, Spencer Otey, Carson Otey, Austin Lloyd, Jessica Lloyd and Preston Lloyd; sister, Leona Hutton of Bristol Virginia, and several nieces and nephews. The family would also like to especially thank the nurses and staff of Total Home Care and Hospice of Abingdon for their exceptional kindness and care. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2010, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Raymond White officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby Boone, Lee Otey, Josh Boone, Spencer Otey, Carson Otey, Austin Lloyd, Preston Lloyd and Robert Baumgardner.
