Ethel Ann Harr BRISTOL, Tenn. Ethel Ann Harr, age 74, passed away, Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at the John son City Medical Center Hospital following an extended illness. She was born in Smyth County, Va., to the late James Martin and Mary Kate Adkins Thomas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Sonny and Kermit Thomas; one sister, Thelma Harris; and a son-in-law, Danny Ray Gilliam. Survivors include her husband, Cecil Harr of the home; two daughters, Jennifer Faye Gilliam of Bluff City and Mary Ann Gorley and husband Billy of Abingdon, Va.; three brothers, Roger Thomas of Wytheville, Va., Robert Thomas of Rural Retreat, Va., and Elmer Thomas of Blountville, Tenn.; three sisters, June Hayden of Saltville, Va., Nancy Toon of Blountville and Betty Jo Compton of Rural Retreat; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 24, 2010, at Tetrick Funeral Home Bluff City Chapel with Pastor Perry Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow in Harr Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnny Gilliam, Brandon Gilliam and Jay Bellamy. The family will receive friends from 6 9 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2010, in the Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home and anytime at the home of a daughter, Jennifer Gilliam, 376 Sycamore Drive, Bluff City. Dear Cecil & Family,
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Ann. I was able to visit with her Tuesday moring there at Johnson City Medical Center. I always enjoyed talking and ministering to her. Please know that all of you are in my prayers.
I am sorry I am working out of town and will not return until Saturday evening. Lord willing I will see you later. May God Bless you.
