Garnett D. "Buck" Miller RURAL RETREAT, Va. Garnett D. "Buck" Miller, age 77, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2010, in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Wythe Co., Va., on Jan. 6, 1933, the son of the late George Samuel Miller, Sr. and Leta M. Hounshell Miller. Buck was a member of the Rural Retreat Baptist Church, was a retired salesman for Western Auto in Wytheville, Va., an auto mechanic for himself while restoring old cars. He is survived by a devoted companion and wife of 52 years, Carrie Trivett Miller; a brother, Sam Miller and wife, Hope of Manassas, Va.; special nieces, Cindy McKay of Crockett, Va., Kathy Vaught and Jacque Trivitt both of Rural Retreat, and Jennenne Estes of Leesburg, Va.; special nephews, Jeff Miller of Woodbridge, Va., and Chad Trivett of Rural Retreat; several other family members and friends also survive. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 7, 2010, at the Rural Retreat Baptist Church with the Rev. Jason McNeese and the Rev. Travis Price officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening at the Lindsey Funeral Home or at the residence at any time. Lindsey Funeral Home, Rural Retreat, is handling the arrangements.
