Garry Stewart

Garry Lynn "Pop" Stewart BRISTOL, Tenn. Garry Lynn "Pop" Stewart, age 61, passed away on Friday, April 9, 2010, at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center in Mountain Home, Tenn. He was born November 14, 1948, to the late Jack Stewart and Gladys Mae Arnold Stewart and had spent his entire life in the Bristol area. He was a former employee of Reynolds Metals, Bristol Metals, Davis Pipe, Penley Construction, and was co-owner of the Rutherford and Stewart sawmill operation for several years. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Oscar Stewart; an uncle, Jack Arnold, and his wife Lynn Price Stewart. Survivors: daughter, Kelly L. Smith and husband Danny M.; son, Faron L. Stewart and wife Michelle; two granddaughters, Courtney and Caitlin Stewart; brother, Chester L. Stewart and wife Phyllis; sister-in-law, Betty Stewart; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 11, 2010, at Rhudy's Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Bristol VFW Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Arvle Woods, Kenneth Woods, Ronnie Johnson, Shannon Johnson, Ivan Stewart, Hunter Stewart, Bud Rowe and J.W. Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Stewart, Joe Arnold, Sid Arnold, Doug Arnold and Gene Stewart. The family will receive friends any time at the home of his son, Faron, at 2935 Denton Valley Road, Bristol, TN.
