Gladys Louise Pyles Nichols Gladys Louise Pyles Nichols, age 83, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at Wellmont Hospice House. She was born in Grafton, W.Va., a daughter to the late Joseph and Amy Bell Pyles. Mrs. Nichols was an active member of Eastern Heights Presbyterian Church where she participated in the Ladies Circle and the WIC. She had a heart for foreign missions and will be remembered for her strong faith in the Lord. Survivors include: husband of 59 years, Robert E. Nichols; daughters,Judith Ann Larkin and husband Jeffrey, Dianne Lynn Dishner and husband Gary, Kathleen Louise Adams and husband Jason; sisters, Rosemary Austin and Ethel Woodruff; brother, John Murphy; grandchildren, Donald Dishner, Joshua Dishner, Jeremy Dishner, Kurt Larkin, Kristin Larkin, Alexander Adams, and Chris Adams; great-grandchildren, Joy and Nathaniel Dishner. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, at 7 p.m. at Eastern Heights Presbyterian Church with Dr. Rick Light officiating. Private committal service will be held Tuesday. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5-6:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Honorary pallbearers will be the elders and deacons of Eastern Heights Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Independent Board for Presbyterian Foreign Missions, P.O. Box 1346, Blue Bell, PA 19422-0435; or to Eastern Heights Presbyterian Church, 431 Old Jonesboro Road, Bristol, TN 37620. The family would like to say a special thanks to Dr. Patton and to the staff of Wellmont Hospice House for their care and concern. I just got word of Mrs Nichols going to be with the Lord. I remember laughing at my jokes and genuinely caring. My love and prayers to you all.
