Harold Henderson Obituary

Harold O. Henderson Marion, Va. Harold O. Henderson, age 80, passed away Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, in the Wythe County Community Hospital. He was born in Illinois to the late Willie Fields Henderson and Lizia Eller Hall. In addition to his parents, Mr. Henderson was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Armstrong; and two brothers, Dewey Allen Henderson and Ernest L. Henderson. Mr. Henderson was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean conflict. He had retired from Virginia House Furniture. Survivors include: one daughter, Darlene Hamm, Atkins, Va.; one son, Bobby Joe Henderson, Atkins; one brother, Glen Edward Henderson, Chilhowie, Va.; two sisters, Stella Ayers, Pulaski, Va., Leona Ford, Richmond, Va.; his grandchildren, Adam Hamm, Front Royal, Va., Josh Armstrong, Maryland, Jessica Armstrong, Chilhowie, Jennifer Mullins, Atkins; 10 great-grandchildren; a special friend and companion, Maria Mancho; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, from the Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel in Marion with Rev. Frank McDonald officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, with full military honors rendered by the Francis Marion VFW Post 4667. The family will receive friends Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. -12 at the funeral home.
