Henry "Bub" Cowan GLADE SPRING, Va. Henry "Bub" Cowan, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, at Valley Health Care in Chilhowie, Va. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thad and Lucille Cowan; an infant son and sister-in-law Mitzie Greer. Left to cherish his memory, his wife Sue McCready Cowan; daughters, Robin Moore, Glade Spring, Va., Jody McCready, Madowview, Va.; son, Sam McCready and wife Charlie, Meadowview, Va.; granddaughters, Micah Orfield, Bailey Moore, Logan Moore, Carlie McCready, Danielle Cook, and husband Dee, Megan Faidley and husband Trey; one grandson, Mac Orfield and wife Kelly; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Catherine Collins and husband Carl, Roanoke, Va.; brothers, Norman Cowan and wife Barbara, Abingdon, Va., Roby Cowan and wife Brenda, Glade Spring, Va., Clayton Cowan and wife Betty, Hardy, Va.; brother-in-law, Tuffy Greer; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, J.D. and Jane Greer; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Henry Cowan will be conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, in the D.R. Henderson funeral Home with the Pastor Shirley Carter officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. prior to the service. Committal service will be held Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring, Va. Everyone wishing to attend the committal is asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. for procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sam McCready, Tuffy Greer, Freddy Moore, Tim Orfield, Mac Orfield, and J.D. Greer.
