Amanda and Ruth,
Ron and I extend our condolences for your huge loss. We know that you have many wonderful memories and stories to get you through this. We enjoyed knowing him and you two also. What a Duke fan! He gave us copies of some of his westerns he wrote. What a loving husband and wonderful father to his children.
Fondly,
Ann and Ron Taska

Herman was a very special influence in my journalism career of almost 50 years ... almost as important as his teaching me what to do as an editor, was his teaching me what not to do ... he was a fine man and i'll miss his advice ...
