To Howards family - I have so many wonderful memories of Howard at Sam's Club. He had told me so many great stories of his life, and he was so funny! He always made me laugh or smile. I have missed him alot since he left Sam's. I'm sorry to hear he has left us all but we will see him again someday. With all my love, Howard's friend Denise Burton (I work in tobacco at Sam's)

Tonya, Elaine, Dawn and family, My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. Howard was a good man, father, grandfather and much more. Now he is your Angel in Heaven, watching over you all. My prayer for you is that the Lord gives you peace and strength now and in the future. I love you all and will be here if you need anything.

Elaine, Dawn, and Tonya....your Dad was many things in life...one of which was a great Mentor. He along with others took a handful of teenagers in the late 70's and unknowingly formed, 20 to 25 years later, what would become the nucleus of much of EMS in Northeast Tennessee. I credit a lot of my success to Howard and the others, but Howard as my first Crew Chief when I was 16 years old had the first hands in the molding process and what he taught will never be forgotten. You never know how many lives are touched by you in this life and it is an unfathomable number that Howard has touched not only directly with his work in the Rescue Squad but indirectly through the many present-day EMS workers that he influenced in their early careers. He will be sorely missed. God bless all of you.
