Howard Henry Woodard BRISTOL, Va. Howard Henry Woodard, age 84, went to be with the Lord Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at Holston Valley Medical Center. He was born Aug. 6, 1925, in Schoolfield, Va. He lived most of his life in the Bristol area. Howard retired from Bristol Steel after 37 years of service and worked for many florists in Bristol and also the Bristol Virginia Transit System. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maggie Brummett; and wife Mary Bays Woodard. Survivors include: children, Mark Woodard and Tammie Baines and husband Robbie; grandchildren, Keri Bogart and husband Chris, Amanda Phillips and husband Bryan, Heather Carrier and husband Jason, Chad Scardo, Shanna Fredrickson; great-grandchildren, Avery Presley, Austin Fredrickson, Alissa Scardo, Bella Bogart, Emma Fredrickson, Caleb Carrier, Alivia Carrier and Reid Bogart; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Melissa Leonard and the girls at Bonnie's. Funeral service will be held Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at 11 a.m. in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Dwight Shaffer officiating. The burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery in Bristol Virginia. Pallbearers will be Ernie Worley, Tim Moore, Glen Moore, Tom Jackson, Chris Bogart and Mike Worley.
