Irene Powers Counts COEBURN, Va. Irene Powers Counts, 100, went to be with he Lord and her beloved hus band of 53 years Wednesday, Sept. 30, 20, at Welmont Hospice House in Bristol Tennessee. She was born June 16, 1909, and was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Harless W. Counts; and Infant daughter, Eunice Bell. Also preceded in death are parents, A.C. and Fanny Kelly Powers; brothers, Worley Powers, Charlie Powers and Frank Powers; sisters, Ethel Stallard and Hazel Lawson. Irene was a member of the South Coeburn United Methodist Church for 100 years and had dedicated her life to the church. She helped Dr. Clements and Dr. Bays Wolf deliver babies in the homes. Survivors include a daughter, Jo Bond and husband Ralph, Bristol Virginia; brother, Lloyd Powers and wife Jeanette, Coeburn; grandchildren, Linda Youngblood, (Paul), Scarlett Shaw, (Bob) and Danny Bond (Debbie); great- grandchildren, Tracey Schrump, William Gravely, Kelly Shea, Forrest Bond, Tabatha Lingerfelt; great-great-grandchildren, Logan and Lily Schrump, Sean and Liam Gravley, Ariel Youngblood, Christopher Bond and Jeffery Bond; special sister-in-law, Inous Powers; special nieces, Carol Barr, Barbara Defillipio and Sandy Salyer; best neighbors, Bobby Bates, Karrie Matthew and Joshua Bates. Visitation for Irene Counts will be held Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Estes Funeral Home Chapel and funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., with Rev. Don Large and Rev. David Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are being handled by Estes Funeral Home, 114 High Ave., NE, Coeburn, VA.
