Irene Deak

Irene B. Deak BRISTOL, Tenn. Irene B. Deak, 90, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at her home. She was the daughter of the late Ralph and Anna Majkut Ramirez. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 50 years, Victor "Veto" Deak; sister, Helen Mary Rankin; and brother, Edward Raczynski. The most important part of her life was the time she spent at St. Annes Catholic Church in Bristol Virginia, and St. Peter's Catholic Church in Welch, W.Va. She was a devoted and compassionate registered nurse. She enjoyed baking and cooking for her friends and family. She was a resident at Twin Oaks Creek Crossing in Bristol for 12 years where she made meaningful and lasting friendships. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Irene is survived by her sons, Ed Deak and Vic Deak; daughter, Mary Helen Brown; nephew/son, Donald Rankin; nephew, Jimmy Rankin; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several special nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews, Taylor, Wesley, and Samantha. The family will receive friends from 5 until 6 o'clock Thursday evening, April 8, 2010, at St. Annes Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will follow with Rev. Ron Rutkowski officiating. The committal service and interment will be held at 1 o'clock Friday afternoon, April 9, 2010, at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, W.Va. Pallbearers will be Ed Deak, Vic Deak, Don Rankin, Jimmy Rankin, Eric Rankin and Eddie Stedem.
