Jack Delaney "Cotton" Collins BRISTOL, Va. Jack Delaney "Cotton" Collins, 80, died on Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, at Wellmont Hospice House. He was a son of the late Albert Delaney Collins and Florence James Collins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen M. Beaver Collins; and by his sister, Mary Brown. Jack was a Korean War veteran having served in the Navy. He spent 23 years at Associated Transport, four years at Mason-Dixon, and 13 years in the Tennessee school system. Jack is survived by his half-sisters, Carolyn King and Patricia Morrison, both of North Carolina; a niece, Susie Wingate of Blountville, Tenn.; and several cousins. He is also survied by his friends, Larry Rader and wife Sally of Bristol Virginia; and a very special friend, Bo Rader. The funeral service will be held at 11 O'Clock Tuesday morning, Aug. 17, 2010, at Mountain View Cemetery. Condolences for the family may be sent and viewed by visiting www.BlevinsCares.com. Jack was a great friend of mine for as long as I can remember. I used to stop an talk to Jack and Helen everyday on the porch. They both were a great influence on my life. My children went and spent time on the porch, but Helen and Homer had long passed away. I will miss him very much..................

Jack was a good friend and neighbor of ours for many years, he could always be counted on for a kind word, friendly smile, and good advice.We always enjoyed his company when he came to visit us, and we considered him part of our family.We wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to his family.
