Jayne Phelps Seaver BRISTOL, Va. Jayne Phelps Seaver, age 84, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at Johnson City Medical Center. She was born in Bristol Tennessee, a daughter of the late Catherine Alyce and William Henry Phelps Sr. Jayne was a member of Central Presbyterian Church. She loved collecting Hummels, playing bridge and enjoyed her grandpuppies and grandkitties. She was an avid reader and dedicated Chicago Cubs fan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Seaver Jr.; sisters, Eula Phillips, Minnie Lee Payton and Ruth Slaughter; brothers, W.H. Phelps Jr. and James Phelps. Survivors includd sons, William Edwin "Ed" Seaver III and wife Cindy of Knoxville, Tenn., Dr. James Marion Seaver and wife Debbie of Bristol; grandsons, William E. Seaver IV, Rev. Michael D. Seaver, Wesley E. Seaver and C. Blake Seaver; granddaughters, Ashley J. Seaver, Anna K. Seaver and Hailey B. Seaver; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Phelps and Geneva Phelps; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special nieces and caregivers, Brenda Neas and Sara Slaughter-Armstrong; special friends, Kathy Beard and Eddie Sims. Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 8, 2010, at 7 p.m. in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Wadsworth and Rev. Michael Seaver officiating. The burial will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Neas, Jonathan Armstong, Danny Godsey, David Holbrook, Charles Phelps, Bill Phelps, Eddie Sims and Steve Kennedy. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bristol Public Library, 701 Goode St., Bristol, VA 24201.
