Jean Robinson PINEY FLATS, Tenn. Jean Robinson, age 69, formerly of Buchanan County, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, in a Johnson City, Tenn., hospital. She was born in Richlands, Va., and was the daughter of Stella Brewster Parks of Claypool Hill, Va., and the late Zellia Columbus Parks. She had made her home in Buchanan County most of her life and was the former owner and operator of Jean's Caf‚ in Oakwood, Va. She was a member of the Boones Creek Baptist Church in Gray, Tenn. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Tony Parks. Survivors, in addition to her mother, are: her husband, Karl P. Robinson; two daughters, Kimberly Dawn Cox of Richmond, Va., Angela Colley of Kernersville, N.C.; one son, Marshall Robinson of Piney Flats; four sisters, Ruby Arwood of Pounding Mill, Va., Opal Elswick of Raven, Va., Joyce Short of Claypool Hill, Va., and Patsy Coleman of Claypool Hill; three brothers, Dr. Calvin Parks of Fayetteville, Tenn., Bobby Parks of Richlands, Va., and Donnie Parks of Pounding Mill, Va.; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services for Jean Robinson will be conducted Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at 1 p.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, with the Rev. Kenneth Kyker and Rev. Jimmie Cole officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill. Nephews and relatives will serve as pallbearers.
